Bolton mountain rescue help two casualties at the Festival of Lights, Rivington


Bolton Mountain Rescue Team (BMRT) deal with two casualties during the Festival of Lights at Rivington terraced gardens.

The team have been on standby at the event all weekend just in case their expertise were needed.

As it happened, who people needed their assistance on Friday night, one of which required further medical help from paramedics.

Yesterday – Saturday, October 22 – a spokesperson for BMRT said: “Last night, tonight and tomorrow, the team are supporting our friends at Rivington Heritage Trust by providing standby rescue cover for their Festival of Lights event.

“Yesterday evening saw the team called upon to treat two casualties – one required further treatment by North West Ambulance Service paramedics and we wish them a speedy recovery.

“If you are at the event over the weekend, pop over and say hello.”
