Bolton: Pedestrian tries to cross M61 motorway



Police scrambled to M61 as a man is found walking on the motorway.

Police were called to the busy motorway at around 7.20am following reported of concern for the man.

He was walking on the road near junction five, Hunger Hill Interchange.

Luckily the man was uninjured.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 7.20 this morning, Sunday, October 23, officers were called to reports of concern for welfare of a pedestrian on the M61 near junction 5.

“The male was uninjured and taken to hospital as a precaution.”

North West Motorway Police said earlier this morning: “We have reports of a pedestrian on M61 between junctions 6 and 5 trying to cross the carriageway. Police are en route. Please take caution if in the area.”
