According to the Mirror, the 58-year-old was hosting his average afternoon show on 6 Music when he noticed a tingling in his fingertips.
When he returned to the program on Friday afternoon, he told the audience what had transpired.
“My fingers were tingling, and my hands couldn’t hold the pen,” he claimed. Right shoulder ache that traveled up my neck and into the back of my skull.
He was immediately given an ECG test to rule out any cardiac issues before spending the next 24 hours in the hospital getting different scans and tests.
He later emphasized to his listeners that Wythenshawe Hospital was “brilliant, they were professional, they were caring, and they were dedicated.”
They called me around ten in the evening and told me I would need a CT scan because they were understaffed and busy.

Craig Joseph Charles, the son of a Guyanese Father and an Irish mother, was born in Liverpool on July 11, 1964.
He grew up in the Cantril Farm housing estate with his two other brothers, Jimmy and Emile, and his older brother Dean (who passed away in 2014).
He studied A-levels in history, government & politics, English literature, and general studies while attending West Derby Comprehensive School and Childwall Hall College of Further Education.
For a poem he penned when he was 12 years old, he was the national winner in a contest by The Guardian newspaper.
After finishing school, Charles worked in a studio at Central Hall on Renshaw Street in Liverpool.

North Lincolnshire’s Barton upon Humber is home to Charles. His first marriage to Actress Cathy Tyson produced a son named Jack, and his second marriage to Jackie Fleming had two daughters, Anna-Jo and Nellie.
Charles and another man were accused of rape and four counts of indecent assault in July 1994 due to fabricated claims made by an acquaintance and Charles’ former girlfriend.
Charles was assaulted by a man brandishing a homemade knife while detained for three and a half months before being granted bail.
Charles and his co-accused were cleared of all counts at trial in March 1995. Charles discussed the need to restore the anonymity of rape suspects after being acquitted.
“The fact that my name, address, and picture can appear on the front of the papers before the so-called ‘victim’ has even signed a statement proves that anonymity for rape defendants is a must and that the law must be changed,” he claimed.
