Senior Congress Leader R Dhruvanarayana died after a cardiac arrest on Saturday, 11 March 2023. His sudden death has sent shockwaves.
He reportedly suffered a heart attack on Friday night at his home. His family rushed him to the hospital. Sadly, the renowned personality could not survive and breathed his last Saturday morning.
According to KPCC spokesperson M. Lakshmana, who confirmed the death, Mr. Dhruvanarayana had just returned from Bengaluru on Friday and was due back there on Saturday.
There have been no prior reports related to Dhruvanarayan’s illness. Might he be working despite his health problems?
Many people took to social media to express their sorrow over the death of a renowned politician. Former president of the Congress and a member of parliament for Wayanad Rahul Gandhi conveyed his sorrow on Saturday via a tweet.
“Saddened by Shri R Dhruvanarayan, a former MP’s sudden death. He was a social justice advocate who ascended through the National Student Union and Youth Congress ranks. He was a dedicated and modest grassroots Leader. His demise leaves the Congress Party with a big loss. My sympathies go out to his family,” wrote Gandhi.
The Ramanagara Parajadhwani Yatra, scheduled for Saturday, was postponed following Dhrubanarayana’s unexpected death at the hands of KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar. The entire Karnataka community is mourning the death of the 61-year-old politician.
Dhruvanarayana Survived By His Wife And Two Sons
The late politician was a married man with two sons. Dhruvanarayana was a loving husband to his wife and a doting Father to his two children.
The name and identity of his spouse and sons have not been made public. Dhruvanarayana is survived by two sons and his wife.
Dhruvanarayan’s death has left his family and relatives inconsolable. They must be completely shocked that their beloved family member is no longer alive.
R Dhruvanarayana Career Explored
Dhruvanarayana had a long and glorious political career. He ventured into the political arena in 1983 after joining the Congress Party.
The Karnataka-born politician served as President of the Students Union of the Bangalore, Hebbal, Agricultural College in 1984.
He was also the president of Bangalore City’s chapter of the National Students Union of India in the same year. He later became general secretary for the Karnataka State Youth Congress in 1986.
Dhruvanarayana ran in his first Vidhan Sabha elections from the Santhermarahalli Constituency in 1999. However, he was unsuccessful. Later, he ran for office in the same district in 2004 and defeated A.R. Krishnamurthy by a narrow margin of one vote.
Dhruvanarayana was regarded to be an influential leader in Mysuru. In the same vein as Srinivas Prasad, he was likewise acknowledged as a notable representation of the Dalit population in the area.
