Song Hye Kyo was born to her father, Song Dae Seob, and mother on November 22, 1981, in her hometown Daegu, South Korea.
When Song was born, the actress was in such bad health that both her parents and the doctors feared she wouldn’t live.
After Song’s recuperation, her parents changed the date on her birth certificate to February 26, 1982, rather than her actual birthday.
Later, Hye Kyo’s parents split up when she was a small girl and then, the artist was raised by her mother. Surprisingly, details about Song’s mother such as her name and profession are unknown.
The actress trained as a figure skater in elementary school but gave up when she was in the eighth grade after they relocated from her homeland of Daegu to Seoul’s Gangnam District.
