Tributes to Harry dennery death
I messaged Harry today not knowing he was in his last moments. Harry and I became friends 12 years ago when I joined the board at the Heart Association. I sat at his table at the Heart Gala and he would pick me and my friends up in his limo. He recruited me to be on the Derby Festival Board. I was his campaign manager when he ran for Man of the Year for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and did events and a date auction to raise funds. He drove his limo to take my daughter and her friends to the salon for her birthday. We have had countless dinners together. He has been my on call Uber driver.
This loss is one that will be felt for a long time. He leaves a huge legacy and hole in Louisville. Godspeed my friend.
So saddened to learn of the passing of our friend Harry Dennery. He was a true ambassador for Louisville, having served for years on the Kentucky Derby Festival board, his work with The Parklands and many more. He was also a great friend who was just a phone call away for anything you needed. RIP my friend. You will be missed.
