The Islanders did not protect Eberle, but the Seattle Kraken picked him at the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft on July 21, 2021.

This made him the ninth NHL player to score a natural hat trick for an expansion team in their first season.

Eberle is known for his scoring ability and quick hands, making him a valuable asset to any team he plays for.
