Leigh: Fire started outside McDonalds in Golborne

A fire crew from Leigh was called to a fire that had been started in a bush outside McDonald’s in Golborne last night.

The fire fighters were called to the popular fast food outlet on the Stone Cross Business Park at 9pm, Friday October 21.

It is believed that the fire was started deliberately by a group of teens who had previously been in McDonald’s.

Watch Manager at Leigh fire station Stuart Parr said: “A group of kids after leaving McDonald’s set fire to one of the bushes nearby.

“It probably only took five or ten minutes of our time, and we extinguished it using one hose.”

Watch Manager Parr confirmed that police have been informed.

Luckily it was a quiet need for the crew other than this incident.
