Darshan Singh is a retired CISF inspector who presently serves as the chief security officer for a for-profit organization called DCM. Akashdeep Singh, his older brother, resides in Brampton, Canada.

Singh’s father, who spent more than 25 years working for the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), was sent to Guna. Later, the family relocated to Kharar, a town close to Chandigarh.

His parents have greatly influenced the bowler’s development into the cricketer he is now.

At just 7 years old, Darshan reportedly saw his kid bowling inswing in a park close to their Kharar home. When his father saw his ability, he encouraged him to pursue his talent and put him in Chandigarh’s program with instructor Jaswant Rai.

Arshdeep Singh Religion

According to multiple sources, Arshdeep Singh’s religion is Sikhism. The cricketer was born into a Sikh household.

The cricketer’s family practices Sikhism and reveres the Sikh Gurus, influencing the bowler to practice Sikhism.

Arshdeep Singh had his early schooling at Guru Nanak Public School in Chandigarh. During his time at school, the bowler played cricket in addition to his studies.

The athlete began playing cricket at GNPS School in Chandigarh with the help of his coach, Jaswant Rai. Singh is now recognized as one of India’s top fast bowlers.

Arshdeep participated in the Katoch Shield event for youth cricket. The sportsman competed for the under-23 national squad after playing for the Indian under-19 team, who won the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

Singh was selected for the India ODI and T20I teams for their tour of England in June 2022. The cricketer was once more selected for India’s ODI team in July 2022, but this time for their away series against the West Indies.

The left-arm bowler was purchased by Kings XI Punjab in December 2018 at the player auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League. On April 16, 2019, Arshdeep made his Twenty20 debut for the team.

The cricketers first played gully cricket with local youths before enrolling at Chandigarh’s Jaswant Rai Cricket Academy in 2015.
