Their Father set sail from England in 1976 on the Schooner Wavewalker with their mother on board for what was thought to be a three-year voyage but turned out to be a decade-long trip.
Not to mention, Suzanne is older than Jon. In their early days, Jon and Suzanne played on the swing in our garden or crouched at the creek’s far end to watch dragonflies flying above the gold-green surface.

Suzanne Heywood Father Gordon Cook And Mother Mary Cook
Suzanne Elizabeth Heywood was born to her parents, Gordon Cook (Father) and Mary Cook (Mother), on February 25, 1969, in Southampton, England.
Suzanne sailed worldwide with her family in a schooner named Wavewalker from 1976 to 1986. In 1977, while recreating Captain Cook’s third trip, the ship was almost destroyed in a storm between Africa and Australia.
Suzanne was below deck and received a serious head injury during that time. Luckily, her other family members and crew received only minor injuries.
Her dad had been the only one on deck and was flung overboard but was saved by his lifeline. Furthermore, Heywood has talked about her early days openly, which has dragged the eyes of many.
Regarding her education, she matriculated at Somerville College, Oxford. After that, she graduated from Oxford with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. In 1993, Suzanne completed her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree.

Suzanne Heywood Husband: A Look at Her Married Life
Suzanne Heywood was married to her late husband, Jeremy Heywood. They tied the knot in 1997.
Her husband was a British civil servant. From 2012 to 2018, he worked as Cabinet Secretary to David Cameron and Theresa May.
After being married for some years, they thought of having a family of their own. Suzanne and Jeremy welcomed three kids, including twins.
Sadly, Jeremy passed away on November 4, 2018, at the age of 56. After years of heavy smoking, Jeremy was diagnosed with lung Cancer in June 2017.
He retired on health grounds on October 24, 2018, receiving a life peerage. Moreover, Suzanne has not given many insights into her personal life after that.
