Nolan was a legendary sportscaster who worked at 9news for over three decades. He was known for his passionate coverage of local teams, and his ability to connect with viewers.

In 1970s, he moved to entered into television industry and joined 9News as their weekend sports anchor.

Over his thirty-year career with 9News he covered countless games for local teams including the Celtics, Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots, and Revolution.

He became known for his unique style of reporting; using stories to help viewers connect with the players.

He used to give human touch to his sports coverage that few others were able to match; colleagues often remarked how he could make them feel comfortable even during high-pressure situations like live broadcasts or post-game interviews.
