In September 2017, 46-year-old Kelly Underwood, a devoted and single parent of three kids, was discovered shot and stabbed to death in her Princeton, Texas, residence.
Her daughter was the first person to witness the crime scene when she went to look at her. The Texas Rangers began looking into the murder after discovering evidence that seemed to indicate that Kelly was in a love triangle and was killed by paid hitmen.
Although initially, it looked like a suicide, an autopsy revealed that Kelly was murdered. After her brutal murder, many people started demanding justice and this case became well-known throughout the globe.
Four individuals, including the deceased’s former partner and boss Ronnie Welborn with his then-lover, were subsequently arrested and found guilty of the killing.
Furthermore, on April 3, 2023, the murder-for-hire story featured on ID’s Mean Girl Murders at 9 pm ET. The episode, titled Desperate Texas Housewives, explored a story of treachery and a twisted love triangle.

TX Kelly Underwood Shot To Death
Following a request for a welfare check, Kelli Underwood, 46, was last discovered on Wednesday. Police initially believed Kelly committed suicide, but a postmortem proved otherwise.
Kelly relocated to a new residence in Princeton in the spring of 2017. On September 20, her girlchild Kayden Graham went to check on her after failing to reach her for several days.
Underwood was discovered on the floor laying unconscious in an upstairs room. Later, an autopsy determined that she had been stabbed and shot numerous times.
Authorities combed the crime site and gathered cigarette butts, silverware, a camera monitor, and five.22-caliber shell casings, among other items, in the backyard.
Furthermore, they took DNA swabs from Underwood’s fingernails. On September 16, her neighbors confirmed witnessing two men at her home who were working for her.
Family members described Kelly as a capable, single mother of three who worked diligently and lived alone in a Princeton home. Kelli also worked for a nearby sheet metal fabrication business.
Ginger Ambrose, Kelli’s sister, remarked that Kelli “wasn’t the type of person who was afraid of much.” Another sister Amber Parker mentioned “I want Kelli to receive justice. She is due for that.
She wasn’t entitled to what she received. Kelli was incredibly resilient and had a big heart. Kelli had a deep affection for her family.”
Kelly Underwood Murder Case Update
After Underwood brutal murder, investigations began at full speed and the results of the case were shocking.
Delvin Powell and Robert Veal, both of Plano, were recognized “by name and description” as having been witnessed with Kelly on the final day she was believed to be alive.
Law enforcement discovered that Powell and Veal were hired by Ronnie Welborn and his then-girlfriend Kadie Robinson to execute the assassination after conducting numerous witness interviews and reviewing cell phone evidence.
The murder-for-hire scheme eventually led to charges against all four.
Moreover, life in prison was determined to be the appropriate sentence by Judge Angela Tucker.
A jury convicted associate Powell guilty of capital murder in August 2019 and accomplice Veal guilty of capital murder in January 2020. Both were also given life sentences in prison.
