Repeated head injuries in athletes have been associated with a condition known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy, which is also referred to as “fistfighter’s dementia.”
Mayo Clinic states chronic traumatic encephalopathy can cause impulsive behavior, aggression, mood disorders such as suicidal thoughts, and emotional instability.
That might be the reason behind the shooting; many believed that he was not in a good mental state during the time of shotting.
