The 20 year old gained an understanding of basketball from a young age since he frequently interacted with the players while serving as the water boy for his father’s squad.

He would attentively pay attention while his father gave instructions to the team and then applied them to his own game.

Ben Gregg parents were in Spokane, where he was raised, and he learned his game from his father. He later relocated to Oregon when he was 7 years old; thus, the majority of his family, including his uncle Grody and his three children, are in the exact location.

How Did Ben Gregg Start His Career?

From a very early age, Ben has been observing his father Matt Gregg, playing basketball and teaching the game to the players. Ben has also been a water boy for the team during the games.

So, to say he was influenced by his father to love the game and pursue it as a career wouldn’t be wrong.

Ben used to participate in basketball competitions at Clackamas High School in Portland. At the age of 18, he verbally committed to Gonzaga in September, assuming he would attend the prestigious Spokane institution the next year.

Nonetheless, the Zags’ assistant coach invited him to join the team for the 2021 season. He had to complete the entire semester in only six weeks in order to graduate from high school.

He intensified his exercises to become college-ready while simultaneously studying, which sped up the process and allowed him to become the best he could be. As a result, at the end of December, he was playing on the nation’s top squad.

He participated in 18 games during his rookie season, clocking a total of 55 minutes and scoring 17 points, helping the club defeat San Diego.

In addition, he also played a total of 108 minutes in 17 games during his rookie season, including a season-high 12 versus Alcorn.
