Why Ryan Tubridy Leaving The Late Show- What Happened To Him?
Renowned Irish television presenter Ryan Tubridy is leaving and is scheduled to step down as the host of The Late Show at the end of the current series.
RTE Director-General announced the news. Tubridy – who is also known for presenting RTE 2fm breakfast radio show The Full Irish – commented it had been a privilege.
Ryan has been serving in the position since 2009. He succeeded Pat Kenny that year.
Following the news of Ryan’s departure, many people are eager to know why their favorite TV presenter decided to leave the show. Here is what we know in regard.

Why Is Ryan Tubridy Leaving The Late Show?
RTE Director-General Dee Forbes broke the news of Ryan Tubridy’s upcoming departure, releasing a statement. Forbes wrote, “I want to thank Ryan for all he has done for the Late Show over the past seven years.”
Talking about the reason, there has been no news related to it. However, it must be a good decision for the television personality’s future career.
While saying he was privileged to work with Tubridy, the director-general added, “The Late Show continues to have a unique place in Irish society and is a domestic and worldwide television. Ryan Tubridy can take enormous credit for that.”
RTE’s director of content, Jim Jenning, also praised the Dublin native saying that he has been a fantastic custodian of the show for the last fourteen years.
“I’m confident that our viewers will join me in thanking him for his years of hard work and dedication to producing genuinely outstanding shows on Friday nights, said Jim Jenning.
“Having worked closely with Ryan over the years, I know his love for The Late Show. I’m excited to continue working with Ryan on his radio show and talking with him about upcoming projects,” added the content director.
Ryan Tubridy: It Has Been Privilege
Commencing the post, the famous television presenter said, “it has been a privilege to host the national institution that is the Late Show for the past fourteen years.
The 49-year-old express my gratitude to the outstanding groups of producers, researchers, crew, and executives who have worked tirelessly to keep the show running over the years.
Tubridy said many of them have grown to be close friends with him. Moreover, Ryan will host his final Late Late Show on RTÉ One on Friday, 26 May 2023.
The decision is yet to be made regarding who will replace Ryan Tubridy to host the Late Show. RTE will release the news later this summer.
Where Is Ryan Tubridy Going?
It is unclear why Ryan Tubridy is leaving the Late Show and where he is going.
However, the famous TV show will continue to host the radio show on weekday mornings from 9 am to 10 am on RTE Radio 1.
While concluding his comment on the news of his departure, Tubridy said, “I will continue doing the radio show I love.”
The Dublin native said he would discuss future projects incorporating his passion for reading, history, and Ireland. “We are working on some great plans for the remaining shows this season. Stay tuned!” he added.
